What does your job entail?

Working in Insight is all about identifying value in order to drive change, by understanding consumers and shoppers. No two days are the same, and I enjoy doing fieldwork where I might be in store with shoppers or in home with consumers listening to and observing what is important to them. I’m constantly looking at consumer and shopper behaviours and attitudes – both within our category, but also within the context of food generally – so that I can highlight opportunities for John West. I test new product ideas or developments with consumers, understand how people think and talk about our brand or our competitors or identify how shoppers shop our category and brand when in store. The crucial part however is taking that understanding and turning it into something really clear and meaningful for when the brand is making key decisions so that decision making is done with consumers and shoppers in mind.
