Job Purpose
As Senior National Account Manager you will proactively lead and drive the achievement of the John West growth ambition agenda, owning the business interface and performance relationship with one of John West’s accounts. This role will be based in Liverpool.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Developing a strategic plan for sign-off by Controller / Commercial Director that is then implemented to deliver against commercial scorecard
- Total P&L accountability for the John West / Customer relationship and budgeted scorecard delivery
- The primary driver of the Business strategy and relationship with the customer, building a breadth and depth of value adding, cross functional relationships within the customer hierarchy.
- Lead cross functional relationships and call upon the full resources within the John West / TUE Business to support the delivery of core objectives
- Lead and / or support key John West projects be that Business Teams through to short term projects e.g. development pricing strategy as and when required by the business
- Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy in the daily, weekly and monthly re-forecasting by SKU / by subcategory of volume and the subsequent full profit evaluation of that revised forecast -including risks, opps and mitigating actions required to still deliver the budget / latest agreed plan.
- Actively influence and drive the optimum execution of the point of purchase drivers – Range, Distribution, Price, On and Off shelf display and Promotions.
- Effectively negotiate, manage, track and invest Customer / Category D&A to achieve the maximum return for both John West and the customer in order to achieve company sales budgets.
- Develop, negotiate, execute and track the delivery of a joint annual business plan with the customer that underpins the Sales and Brand Strategy achievement
Person Specification
- Proven FMCG sales experience inclusive of a brand leader
- Has brand as opposed to purely private label experience and can therefore demonstrate the collaboration with Marketing to deliver integrated brand, category and customer strategies.
- Experience operating across a number of categories
- Has personally developed, negotiated and executed a number of customer JBP’s and can demonstrate the key scorecard deliverables against that JBP
- Very strong Commercial acumen and analytical skills to ensure day to day accountability and proactive influence of the P&L drivers.
- Strong negotiator who can demonstrate experience of maintaining focus, control and delivery of a balanced scorecard of success.
- Someone who actively embraces a dynamic, changing and ambiguous environment and aspires to personally contribute to and benefit from that changing environment
Desired:
- Operating as a SNAM in a smaller business / an accomplished NAM operating on a grocery
- Experience operating within the ambient category
- JBP experience across more than one grocery multiple
